Thoughts and Insights

Evet tells about his developed preferences

I've always had a fancy for things that are colourful, bright, and harmonious. I've always loved the expressive sound of effects which gives you a whole new dimension in possibilities. I think the sound of a great, edgy, chorused and echoed out guitar gives me a deep insight to the depth of the universe. Then you have the ways you can repeat and sequence phrases at incredible speeds, creating sweeping layers of sounds. I always feel that in songs my fast playing is more for creating walls of textures. I remember the early Kiss albums that had cool effects on the instruments, and later New Wave with bands such as Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie and the Banshees, effects became a whole new canvas. With the GNX4 I can create cool presets and still have 8gb of stored beats and creatve presets. I have been using it for over 10 years. I have had great success with Digitech products, including the incredible GSP 2120. Combined with the ahead of it's time unit "Vortex", I got some incredible tremolo effects, which I used on "Scorpionfish" and "Beauty and the Beast du Nile Mix".

My first guitar was a rich blue Les Paul body "Vega", which I soon sprinkled glow in the dark paint on. I got some great sounds with it and my first recorded guitar solo. I soon got an Ibanez RG I decorated with zebra stripes. Then I moved on to the new Ibanez at the time "RG570" flourecent orange with a pink Megadrive DiMarzio. I played it for many many years until I acquired a new Greyburst Ibanez RG570 QXM. I love the guitar; it is the best I've owned. Guitar craftsmanship has developed to a whole new level for ease of playing and maintenence. I also have a 7 string Cort, and my 12 string Washburn. I also have a charcoal black Dean bass. I also have a Casio full range midi keyboard.

I would love to get a good 8 string and some kind of midi guitar; I've seen some pretty cool led ones. Of course I would love to design one; in fact I have done various ones throughout the years.

In the studio, at home, or live, the gnx4 is a central part of Evet's performances~

For over 10 years, the Digitech unit has been solid and reliable. With onboard looping and mp3 playback, it's the perfect unit for my unique approach. A baffled acoustic performer called it a "robot".

The rackmount unit was an interesting mesh of ideas, with instruction and preset manuals. I loved using them with such awesome sounds as "Aerosol", although not all of them worked as they should. The units died after about 6 years...

Another excellent unit by Digitech, it featured full effects routing and modification, plus an AX-7 tube for various overdrives. Combined with the Vortex, they helped me form a wall of sound which was featured on the Ozima and Vaporeyes projects.

I always loved the sound of the 12 string since the moment I was born. Then I was really moved by Love and Rockets' sounds with it. I wrote some of my best songs on it.
